For builders, architects & homeowners
Specifying, supplying and fitting window and door packages for new builds, additions and remodels across the Wood River Valley. Authorized dealer for Kolbe, Optimum and All Weather.
Authorized dealer for
Most of what people know us for is glass that broke. A pane, a shower panel, a screen the dog went through. That work matters and we do a lot of it.
The other half of the business is windows and doors as a package: specifying, supplying and fitting the glazing for a new build, an addition or a whole-house remodel. Different scale, different timeline, different conversation. If that is what you are here for, this page is the one you want.
We have been an authorized dealer for these lines for years, and we work with architects, designers, general contractors and homeowners on both residential and commercial projects. Our shop is on Lewis Street in Ketchum and has been since 1990, so the people quoting your package are the same people who will measure it and set it.
There is no single best window, only the right one for the opening, the elevation and the budget. This is roughly how we think about the lines we carry.
Contemporary aluminum. Large expanses of glass with minimal frame, which is what you want when the view is doing the work and you would rather not see the window at all. The usual choice for modern elevations and big sliding walls.
The same contemporary sightlines with warm wood on the interior. Modern from outside, softer from inside. A good answer when the architecture is clean but the interior is not.
Extruded aluminum outside, wood inside, in more classic profiles. Built to take a mountain winter on the exterior while the room still reads as a traditional Wood River Valley house.
Kolbe's Glastra hybrid material rather than wood or clad wood. Clean lines and strong performance at a lower price point, which makes it the sensible pick when the budget has to stretch across a lot of openings.
Steel windows, for the narrow sightlines and the specific look that only steel gives you. Specified more often by architects than by homeowners, and worth seeing in person before you commit.
Architectural aluminum for commercial work and for residential projects that need commercial-grade systems, including larger openings and storefront-type glazing.
Send us plans. Drawings, a window schedule, or even a sketch with sizes on it. We take off the openings and come back with a quote against the lines that suit the project. If you are choosing between two lines, we will quote both so you can see what the difference actually costs rather than guessing.
Once a line is chosen, everything is confirmed by measurement before an order goes in. This is the part people underestimate: window and door units are built to your openings and cannot be trimmed afterward, so the measurement has to be right and it has to be ours. On new construction that usually means measuring after the openings are framed rather than off the drawings.
Then the units are ordered and built. Lead time depends on the line, the finish and what the factory is running, so we will give you a real answer for your specific order rather than a number off a page. When they land, we set them.
For a remodel the sequence is the same, with one extra question early on: whether you are replacing whole units or whether the frames are sound and only the glass has failed. That answer changes the cost enormously, and we will tell you honestly which one you are looking at.
Send drawings and we will do the takeoff. If you are specifying to a look rather than a product, come to the showroom and put hands on the finishes and the sightlines before it goes in the set.
We measure after framing, coordinate delivery to the site rather than to a yard, and the crew setting the units works out of Ketchum, so a problem on site does not mean waiting on someone driving over from out of the area.
You do not need to arrive knowing what you want. Come with photographs, or with what is bothering you about the windows you have, and we will work backward from there. Nobody is going to talk you into a line you do not need.
The showroom is in the Scott Building at 110 Lindsay Circle in Ketchum, south entrance, open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Worth calling ahead so whoever knows your project best is free when you arrive.
